In the foreground the second main line arrives (red dotted line) with it's connection into a yard....current thoughts are the two short sidings will be a small loco terminal 3rd work session on the 11th Feb - this includes the first track laid on the short 'end board' - the track in the foreground is an industrial spur, track is Peco C83 with some ties cut and rearranged (and some removed) to give the impression of less well maintained trackage. Mike working on the sub-bases to the main lines - cheques from Dr Pepper or Sainsburys for product placement gratefully received! :) Close up of the 'Collins Industrial Track' - Chris has this small board at home for the moment and it will become a cement plant in due course. A 70's Santa Fe fleet takes shape - L-R - Atlas SD24, Kato SD40, Atlas SD26 and a pair of Proto SD45s A 70's Santa Fe fleet takes shape - L-R - Atlas SD24, Kato SD40, Atlas SD26 and a pair of Proto SD45s ATSF4572 is an Atlas SD24, very little done to this so far, I need to replace the horn, and I have added a 'can' antenna ATSF4602 is an Atlas SD26, a prototype kitbash/upgrade from the SD24. Again it needs a new horn, but other than that only a couple of detail changes ATSF5011 is a Kato SD40, it has been renumbered into the 1970's number series, silver trucks and yellow handrails painted as per a pic on Fallen Flags, and a can antenna and beacon ATSF5607 is a Proto 2000 SD45, the supplied beacon and plow are added and the yellow handrail was painted. ATSF5592 is another Proto SD45, again supplied details added (no plow) otherwise stock Thrall standalone, TTX has been shortening these from 48' to 40', this is a Walthers model that's has the same kitbash NS piggyback flat (front range) with UPS trailer (Atlas/A-Line) Athearn 45' as a SeaLand box - decals from TL Decals current state of the stack

The bogie needs modifying, with the NEM pocket and end of the bogie being removed to allow space for the coupler box. Be careful not to break those huge guard irons! Assemble the coupler in it's pocket, then remove the lugs from the sides (or they affect bogie swing) and also remove the rear of the coupler box back to the rear of the spring. It may be that other coupler numbers give a better coupler box to use on these, but I had #46s in stock so went with what I had. The coupler box is packed down from the floor by a couple of bits of plasticard. Completed. The coupler box doesn't have much clearance, and if you have trainset curves this will not work due to it stopping bogie swing. It's a fairly tight conversion, but acheivable I think. Finished from the front, on a future one I would remove the angled bit off the top of the Kadee box
